Our new core words have been introduced to the students. They have until November 10th to learn these words. Don’t forget about reviewing the “no excuse” words too.
Ideas to help your child study: (1) Write the words 3 times each. (2) Use the words in sentences. (3) Create word trees. (4) Ask your child to spell one of the words each day.

Today the students were introduced to five new core words. These words, plus “no excuse” words, will be included on the next spelling test. The students will practice spelling these words and using them in context in the classroom. They will take the Unit 4 spelling test on Thursday, October 27th. Please work with your child on spelling and using them in sentences throughout the next two weeks.

Grammar: We are currently working on antonyms and identifying nouns both – common and proper. We will continue to review the four types of sentences. We are also working on identifying and correcting sentence fragments and run-on sentences.
